Part-Time Enrollment
6-12For students in grades 6-12 who attend another public school but want to take additional courses.

Full-Time Enrollment at UTVA
Full-Time Eligibility Requirements
Age Requirements
State law requires a student to be at least five years old and no more than 17 years old on or before September 1 to be eligible for the current school year. With respect to special education, a person who is no more than 21 years old on or before September 1 and has not passed the eleventh grade is eligible for UTVA.
Proof of Residency
While attending UTVA, you must maintain a full-time Utah residency.
How to Enroll: Full-Time
Step 1
Create an Enrollment Account
The K12 enrollment portal provides access to your online application to UTVA, along with real-time alerts and quick links to important info.
Step 2
Submit an Application
Once you’ve begun an application in K12’s enrollment portal, click the option to add a new student or continue with your application. Simply fill in the fields with your child’s information, select UTVA, and hit Submit.
Step 3
Upload Additional Documents
In this step, you’ll provide more detailed information about your child and upload additional documents, such as proof of residency and a birth certificate. For a list of specific documents that will be required, contact our enrollment consultants at 855.777.0682.
Step 4
Welcome to Utah Virtual Academy!
After successfully completing the process, your student’s enrollment will be finalized. Please check your email for important information regarding your student’s status and how to access the K12 School (OLS).

Part-Time Enrollment at UTVA
Part-Time Eligibility Requirements
Students in grades 6–12 who reside in Utah and currently attend either a public school or homeschool are eligible to enroll in part-time courses through the Statewide Online Education Program (SOEP).
Courses must be consistent with graduation requirements and any Individualized Education Plan (IEP) that may be in place.
Students must stay enrolled at their local public school or homeschool to participate in the SOEP program. Please do not withdraw your student from their school if they are enrolling in UTVA part-time.
How to Enroll: Part-Time
Step 1
Create an Account
Create an account in the PowerSchool enrollment portal.
Step 2
Fill out an Application
Begin your application in the PowerSchool enrollment portal by completing all required fields with your child’s information.
Step 3
Select Individual Courses
When you reach the course request page, you will be prompted to visit the Statewide Online Education Program (SOEP) website to create an account and request courses. After completing that step, return to your application in the PowerSchool enrollment portal to continue the enrollment process.
Step 4
Sign and Submit Application
If any required information is missing, a red number will appear on the corresponding page of the application. Click the red number to navigate directly to the missing section. Once all steps are complete, you will see green check marks next to each part of the application. Click “Submit” at the bottom of the page to finalize and submit your application.

After successfully completing the enrollment process, your student will be approved. Please check your email for important information regarding your student’s status and how to access their courses.
Note: To participate in the SOEP program, students must stay enrolled at their local public school or homeschool. Please do not withdraw your student from their school.
